Measure A, the County's $950 Million Affordable Housing Bond, Changes Lives for the Better

SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CALIF. – Measure A, the County’s $950 million affordable housing bond, has created new homes for more than 6,000 people who were unhoused, at risk of homelessness, or struggling to pay for housing.

Approved by county voters in 2016, Measure A is delivering on its promise to increase the affordable housing supply to address the housing and homelessness crises in Santa Clara County. The County is on track to exceed its goal of producing 4,800 affordable housing units by roughly 1,000 units.

Silicon Valley continues to have some of the highest housing costs in the nation. A lack of affordable housing supply, rising rents, wage gaps, and structural inequities all contribute directly to housing insecurity and homelessness in the county.

In recognition of Affordable Housing Month, the County has produced a video (above) featuring five people whose lives have been changed because of Measure A.
