County of Santa Clara Hosting Leadership Conference to Inspire, Empower Young Women in Santa Clara County

WHAT:

The Strong Girls, Strong Women Conference is a free event that is open to all Santa Clara County high school students and their adult allies, including their mothers (or mother-figures) and professionals who work with them.

The conference includes a light breakfast, lunch, cultural performances and workshops exploring leadership, empowerment, healthy relationships, identity and self-care. A networking and resource fair will also promote community resources and offer volunteer opportunities to youth.

Due to the material covered during conference, young students interested in attending must be in high school and residents of Santa Clara County. No middle school students are allowed due to the mature content of this conference. Underserved populations including Latinas, immigrants, and LGBTQ girls in high school are encouraged to participate.

Participants are encouraged to donate socks to benefit homeless teens
