WHY:

The James Ranch provides a wide variety of programs for youth. Upon admission to the James Ranch, each youth is assessed to determine his or her level of need for services. Programming is focused on the development of pro-social, reasoning, and critical thinking skills, and seeks to increase youth’s ability to regulate their emotions, support in learning to refuse anti-social behavior and peers and attain family reunification. The James Ranch practices a rehabilitative treatment model rather than the traditional correctional model. The program recognizes that relationships between staff and youth make a difference in outcomes.
