New Specialty Clinic & Pharmacy Opening in Mountain View

News Highlights

  • A new specialty clinic and pharmacy opening in Mountain View provides North County residents greater access to services
  • The first collaboration with Planned Parenthood on a healthcare location
  • Pharmacy services available to all community residents

Santa Clara County, CA. A new specialty clinic and pharmacy suite opened today at 2500 California Street in Mountain View, located on the corner of California Street and Showers Drive. The services being provided are part of Santa Clara Valley Medical Center Hospitals and Clinics healthcare delivery system.

The Multi-Specialty Clinic will provide access to medical specialties starting with cardiology, which will be soon followed by pulmonary and endocrinology services. For a patient diagnosed with a condition requiring the services of one of these medical practices, having a specialist available closer to home makes it easier get needed care.

“This is a great partnership for the community,” said Santa Clara County Supervisor Joe Simitian. Simitian, who championed the effort for a “collaborative endeavor” in Mountain View, noted, “It allows Planned Parenthood and the County to do even more for the folks we both serve in the North County. Planned Parenthood will continue to provide primary health care and reproductive health services, while the County can provide complementary services that might otherwise not be readily available. This is health care where people need it, in the community, close to home and work. Yet another reminder we can do so much more when we partner with others.”
The new clinic and pharmacy are located in the Planned Parenthood building and complement the primary care services currently being offered by Planned Parenthood. The partnership is a collaborative effort by the County and Planned Parenthood to expand health services in the North County. The site offers an intimate and smaller care setting in a Mountain View neighborhood, as well as the ability to get prescriptions immediately next door.
“Planned Parenthood Mar Monte is excited the County is bringing new specialty services and a pharmacy to Mountain View,” said Stacy Cross, CEO of Planned Parenthood Mar Monte. “These enhanced services will be easy for our patients and families to access enabling us to continue to provide health care to Mountain View and surrounding communities who have relied on our services for more than four decades.”

Pharmacy services are also available starting today. This local pharmacy will provide a face-to-face presence for any Santa Clara County resident looking to fill a prescription. In addition to filling prescriptions, pharmacists will be available to speak with and consult with customers and provide information about their medications.
“With the support of Supervisor Simitian and the County Board of Supervisors, the County of Santa Clara Health System is also planning to open a second larger health center in the North County,” commented Paul Lorenz, CEO, Santa Clara Valley Medical Center Hospitals and Clinics. “The new health center will offer primary care and other health care services for residents in the surrounding communities.”

Patients can be referred to the Multi-Specialty Clinic from community providers, Community Health Partnership clinics and Valley Medical Center Hospitals and Clinics, saving these patients a trip to the Santa Clara Valley Medical Center campus or another more distant location.
About the Multi-Specialty Clinic and Pharmacy: 2,355 square feet, two (2) large patient exam rooms, ample space for patient consults, and two (2) stations in the separate pharmacy suite to assist patients and fill prescriptions.
