Sheriff’s Office Youth Cadets Program Develops Future Leaders
The County of Santa Clara Sheriff's Office offers a program for young and emerging adults to explore the field of law enforcement and corrections.
Time is running out to apply to the Santa Clara County Youth Cadet Academy in Summer 2025. Youth who are interested in a career in law enforcement must apply by the December 5th deadline.
Applicants must be between 15 and 20-and-a-half years old and commit to participate in a three-week long training. The program is designed to teach kids what a law enforcement academy is like and offer them an intro to the career itself.
During the program, youth will participate in activities ranging from emergency vehicle operations and traffic stops, K9 demonstrations, arrest techniques, defensive tactics, court proceedings, physical training, classroom learning, and more!
The Youth Cadet Academy takes place at the Sheriff’s Office Justice Training Center in Morgan Hill. The program is a great way to make friends and connections with Sheriff’s Office staff and learn skills like teamwork and leadership, and further discover if this is a career path that they may wish to pursue in the future.
Remember: The deadline to apply is December 5th!
